About the Local Twitter Directory

The Local Twitter Directory is meant to not only organize Twitterers by where they live, but also collate information from each region to figure what everyone is talking about.

To that end, we publish collated stats for every Twitterer, for the city they are in, and their state/province/country.

One of better examples is the state of New York and the city of New York, NY. At a glance, you can see what links, what @users, and what #hashtags were popular in the past week and past month. You can immediately see that NewYorkology is one of the most referenced Twitterer in New York.

With enough participating users, everyone will be able to quickly tell who the influencers are, what people are talking abuot, and what is being linked to in their respective city and state (and also for individual users).
